- What are some forces that can affect objects?
- What are some ways that objects are affected by forces?
- How can we test the effects of forces on an object?
This week students will design an experiment to test the effect of force on an object such as push, pull, gravity, friction and magnetism.
While we continue exploring circuits this week, students will be able to differentiate between conductors and insulators. Conductors allow energy to pass, while insulators prevent energy from passing. In the lab this week, students will be building circuits that demonstrate electricity traveling in a closed path, creating an electrical circuit. We will also learn how to build a switch to turn on and off the circuit.
In our science lab this week, students will discover how to make complete (closed) and incomplete (open) circuits! Working with various materials, students will learn similarities and differences of what pathways work and which do not to make complete circuits.
Vocabulary words that the students should focus on our:
electric circuit, electromagnetic field, closed circuit, open circuit, electric current, conductor, insulator
